Communications Assistant
The International Studio & Curatorial Program is seeking a Communications Assistant in East
Williamsburg, NY. ISCP is a not-for-profit, residency-based contemporary art center for emerging
to mid-career artists and curators from around the world. Founded in 1994, ISCP has hosted over

ISCP’s Communications Assistant is responsible for managing ISCP’s communications and
overseeing the internship program. S/he/they reports directly to the Development Manager and
Head of Communications and regularly collaborates with the Arts Residency Manager. The
successful candidate must enjoy a fast-paced work environment with steady multitasking and
problem solving.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Plan, coordinate and develop short and long-term communications strategy, locally and
globally, including regular email blasts, press releases, social media (Instagram, Twitter,
Vimeo and Facebook) and
● Design organization communications materials including promotional materials, flyers,
newsletters, invitations, and year end reports
● Support communication needs for Development Manager and Head of Communications
as needed
● Liaise with contracted designers as needed for Open Studios and other special projects
including annual Benefit Auction
● Maintain website/content management (WordPress) and liaise with web designers
● Generate and maintain archives of images
● Develop and maintain press relationships and press coverage
● Basic videography and video editing of ISCP public programs
● Maintain organization of email lists
● Communications related to development
● Supervise a Communications intern two days per week
Education and Experience:
● A minimum of two years experience in communications, copy editing and/or
development, preferably in a nonprofit environment
● Ability to work with a team and independently in a fast paced environment
● Attention to detail, ability to prioritize, problem solve, and multitask.
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent number years’ experience
● Strong copy editing and writing skills
● Excellent computer skills including Adobe Creative Suite, basic video editing skills, social
media platforms, Microsoft Office and G Suite; photography, familiarity with Mailchimp
and Salesforce/database experience are a plus
● Must be available to work Tuesday evening events as needed
Position is full-time: 40 hours a week, non-exempt with an hourly rate of $20.75.

Candidates will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon
commencing employment.
