Yann Pocreau

Yann Pocreau’s research has been focused on the narrative contributions suggested by light when it is staged in specific places. In his most recent projects, he puts forward traces of light and it’s presence as a subject. Though he works mostly with photography, Pocreau has experimented with other media, such as installation, animation, and sculpture, as he developed a series of interventions and works around artificial light, its materiality and its essential contribution to the artist’s photographic thought.

Remy Jungerman

Remy Jungerman’s recent work relates to his Surinamese roots and global citizenship. He places traditional materials and objects in different contexts that challenge the established notions of their representation within Western society. Jungerman derives his inspiration from the Maroon culture and the global black diaspora. He is also inspired by Western traditions and developments in the arts, such as the twentieth century Dutch De Stijl movement.

Remy Jungerman (born, Suriname) has lived and worked in Amsterdam since 1990. He has exhibited his work at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam; Gemeente Museum, The Hague; Havana Biennial, Cuba; Prospect.3: Notes for Now, New Orleans; and the Brooklyn Museum, New York, amongst others. Jungerman is the recipient of the Fritschy Culture Award, The Netherlands. His work has been featured in numerous publications and has been acquired by various institutions and private collectors worldwide.
