Olaf Brzeski
Olaf Brzeski’s practice is rooted in surrealist visions, which he puts into life via film, three-dimensional sculptures and installations. His comments about his own works do not so much mirror his personal interpretation, but narrate fictional stories, illustrated in the artworks or, in fact, made believable through the existence of the latter. This is the way in which Brzeski generates new worlds and their inhabitants.

Asae Soya
Asae Soya works interdisciplinarily with painting, installation and video installation. Among her main series of works are an oil-painting series that depicts familiar daily objects, such as a bathtub, water drop and airport; an installation series that visualizes scenes in which colors create a sense of sound; and a video-installation series that projects an animated film pervading the entire space with images of the forest of colors. Those series, which are focused on the idea of perceiving the world, are all filled with vibrant colors and light, while also possessing a dynamic sensation and subtlety that can awaken not only just viewers’ visual senses but also their physical sensations.
Asae Soya received her doctorate in painting from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2006. Her awards include the First Prize in Vision of Contemporary Art, 2002 and the SHELL ART AWARD, 2002. Her recent solo exhibitions include sora-iro, Art Tower Mito, 2013; Float, Nishimura Gallery, 2011; Swim, Obuse Museum, 2011 and Ringing, Shiseido Gallery, 2010. Her group exhibitions include shows at Fuchu Art Museum, Art Tower Mito, Sezon Museum of Modern Art, and PYO Gallery, Beijing. Soya has major public works in the Sankei Building, Totsuka Ward Office, Art Tower Mito, Takamatsu City Museum of Art, and Tokyo Station Gallery.
