Artist

Tora Schultz

Tora Schultz uses sculpture to explore the social dynamics and invisible gender-bias data that exist in the power of object language. Schultz recontextualizes everyday objects through basic sculptural displacements and tragicomics, frequently referencing institutional design and body stereotypes. She extrapolates the subtle social tensions present in objects around us by paying persistent attention to the specifics of material and form.

Tora Schultz has exhibited work at O-Overgaden, Copenhagen; Den Frie, Copenhagen; and Konstnärshuset, Stockholm, among others.

Bryan Fernandez

Bryan Fernandez is a Dominican-American artist from Washington Heights, New York, whose practice centers on the visibility of marginalized communities from his cultural background. As an Afro-Dominican, he has observed the lack of authentic representation of his demographic in white media. In response, Bryan creates large-scale figurative mixed media works that tell the stories of his people, challenging colonial and anti-Black narratives.

Bryan Fernandez has exhibited work at The Shed, New York; Bronx Museum, New York; and New Image Art, Los Angeles, among others.

Artist

Nifemi Ogunro

Balancing utility and style, Brooklyn-based designer Nifemi Ogunro approaches their design process with equal consideration for both the bodies that interact with their objects and the forms of the objects themselves. While wood is the primary medium for their art and furniture-making practice, Ogunro draws inspiration from photography, film, performance, and movement. They describe their creations as functional sculptures.

Nifemi Ogunro has exhibited work at Side Gallery, Barcelona; and the Denver Art Museum, Colorado, among others.
