Crystal Yayra Anthony
Crystal Yayra Anthony’s work explores alternate ways of being by conceptualizing the human body in its most natural and vulnerable state: nude. Her subjects are presented in ways that challenge preconceived notions of decorum or performative and acceptable expression. Anthony’s practice investigates her perception of what African society used to be and experiments with what it could be.
Crystal Yayra Anthony has exhibited work at Kunsthalle Krems Museum, Vienna; Dot Ateliers, Ghana; and PM/AM, London, among others.
