Maja Štefančíková

Maja Štefančíková creates temporary performative situations. She interested in the role of a spectator as a subject and an object of and artwork. She aims to understand the effort audience members put into the perception and understanding, or lack thereof, of an artwork and the interpretation that ensues. Further, the artist explores social phenomena such as work, institutionalized spaces, and the current art ecosystem, in relation to aesthetic experiences, perception and memory.

Maja Štefančíková has exhibited work at House of Arts Brno, Czech Republic; Ars Electronica Center, Linz, Austria; Kunstverein Eisenstadt, Austria, among others.

Rafał Żarski

Rafał Żarski is a multimedia artist interested in exploring the after effects of contemporary labour systems including exhaustion, powerlessness, and leisure. He mixes fiction and scientific research to find connections between activities of everyday life with global socio-economical mechanisms.

Rafał Żarski has exhibited work at Łęctwo Gallery, Poznań; G99 Gallery, Brno; and Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, Warsaw, among others.

Valentýna Janů

Valentýna Janů’s suggestive installations often combine video work and immersive environments made from fabrics and other objects. They playfully address contemporary existential questions around technology, patriarchal systems and climate change. She is interested in exploring the relationships between the individuals’ daily struggle and the condition of a globalized world.

Valentýna Janů has exhibited work at National Gallery Prague, Czech Republic; Futura Centre for Contemporary Art, Prague, Czech Republic; and EXILE Gallery, Wien, Austria, among others.
